Tara Whitley
Tara grew up in Utah on 6 acres filled with love and family. She was instilled with a love of learning by her mother while being homeschooled along with her 5 younger siblings. Her love and experience in teaching started at a young age. She has enjoyed teaching in many different schools teaching many different subjects including homeschooling her son, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was trained in and taught Montessori educational methods at Ogden Valley Montessori and Maria Montessori Academy. She loves young people with all their different personalities and strengths.
She was married to her late husband in 2010 and now enjoys her favorite job of all, being a mother to their son. As a family they love reading and listening to books, playing games, talking, laughing, creating projects, all things history, camping, and ice cream.

Tara Whitley quickly became a favorite mentor last year as she taught science and now she gets to move into a role that she was born for- mentoring history and literature. She has a deep love for the history of our country, quality literature, and has a passion for youth! A perfect combination. She pays the price to connect with students and you know it the first time you meet her. American History will be covered primarily through studying the lives of influential people and pivotal events starting with the pilgrims and working through the world wars. Literature selections will support the history topics. Students, get read to buckle in for a fantastic journey through the history of our beloved country. This is going to be one rich, engaging, and fun class!
